Ford Introduces F-series Super Duty Limited, with a Price as Big as Texas

2018 Ford F450 Super Duty

-

It’s Texas State Fair time again, which means fair goers can take a ride on a 212-foot Ferris wheel, marvel at the acrobatics of extreme pogo, and nosh on deep-fried chicken noodle soup on a stick. For automakers, it’s a perfect occasion to introduce new pickups—lots of fancy new pickups. And they don’t get much fancier than Ford’s new F-series Super Duty Limited.

-

In case you’ve lost track, the Super Duty currently is available in XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum forms, with base MSRPs topping out at $78,620 for a maxed-out F-450 Platinum. Buyers of the Limited, however, might consider that shabby machine something for the lawn guys.

The Super Duty Limited starts at $80,835 for an F-250, $82,010 as an F-350, and $87,100 in F-450 form. Ford boasts that buyers who check every box can drive that total up to $94,455. The Limited comes exclusively with Ford’s 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel and  four-wheel drive, with a choice of single or dual rear wheels.

-

Standard equipment includes a 360-degree-view camera, blind-spot warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning with automated emergency braking, LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, heated front and rear seats, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, Custom Camelback two-tone leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather-upholstered dash and armrests, a microsuede headliner, ash-wood trim, a specially designed grille, satin-finish tailgate trim, and special badges, including one on the center console etched with the serial number.

Considering that Ford has offered a Limited trim level on the F-150 since 2013, the Super Duty Limited isn’t so surprising. At least, no more than deep-fried chicken noodle soup on a stick.
